Iwona is a self-taught, Toronto-based artist whose work focuses on the quiet beauty of everyday life and the way light can transform a place from ordinary into something magical. The sun setting on a city street creates a cinematic atmosphere, while a gloomy forest comes alive with a hint of dappled light.

Her medium is oil paint, applied in thick colourful strokes. Using both palette knife and brush, she paints from photos she takes in the city and during her travels.
